Not quite.
Very old strong boxes such as these commonly had a fake front keyhole to distract thieves and had a hidden keyhole in the lid. The turn of the key would move all of the boltwork and it was usually very intricate.

Comparing the locking technology from the earlier locks we see in the video it appears as if the lever locks around the 1900 were much weaker. I mean look at those keys and keyways in the video that looks so much more complicated to make and probably pick then the lever locks from around 1900.

Used to have a small strongbox used by Wells Fargo in their stage coaches in the 1800s that was also clearly handmade and had similar - albeit much less complex - mechanisms. Had eight latches instead of the dozens in your video.
