Cool old walk in safe with unknown lock

Found a cool safe lock today at the local fair I work at. We work the first aid station, and it is in the old cash office. Because of that, there is a really cool old Herring Hall Marvin walk in safe there that I thought was never used. Today I found it unlocked and got to take a peek inside (old paperwork and receipt books), but more importantly, I got to see the lock from the inside! (any ideas on what it is? no markings)

I was surprised at how thin the door was, about 1/8" thick! It also had two doors behind the first door, with a little lever lock on them (they were open). Walls are stone and cinderblock, and it looks to be from the 20's
Previous pic of the door from outside:

LOL! No, I tried halfheartedly the first year, but could feel no contact points. The other day when I left the office, I set the dial to 0, just to see if someone messed with it. Sure enough, yesterday it was on 10 and wouldn't turn. That is when I noticed the handle was turned! I'll see today if it's still unlocked. (Really wanted to take that cover off and decode it, but I chickened out)

Just when you think you've learned it all, that is when you find you haven't learned anything yet.

It should have a 4 wheel curb. That has all the wheels on it so you would have to take it apart to find out the combination instead of just turning the dial.

Re: Cool old walk in safe with unknown lock

It was locked again today, so obviously someone still uses it. Although they must not care much, if they leave it unlocked sometimes. (likely more for protecting records from fire than theft)
