500 minutes. I have the three gates of w3 (30, 63, 97). I have some gates of w2 where I believe one to be the true gate (13, because +47=60 is another gate). But when I scan w1 I get a flat line. Playing around with the gates I know won't improve the drop-in. Maybe I will rescan w2.

550 minutes. Scan of w1 stays a flat line at 12 - 12 1/8. Rescan of w2 is now mostly also a flat line at 12 - 12 1/8 where it had been previously between 12 1/8 and 12 6/8. I myself am also feeling like a flat line. I will stop for today.

i feel your pain i'm just about to start page 6 of graphing on the s&g i'm spinning at the moment. for every good gate signature the other wheels have well placed lows to thwart my wheel i.d. or great high points well placed for shaddowing. i've been working by feel and recording to the nearest sixth of a unit, but now i've stuck a vernier scale on and a mic, assume nothing and go back to awl in single digit steps for me.

just a 6730 which i've done before but this combination's being an arse. annoying since i was just opening this to get back up to speed before tackling a chubb. ratlock's got a chubb the same as mine which i reset a new combo on for him and it spurred me on to try crack mine, either that or i've got a lagard with a loose and wobbly dial which looks like a real challenge. that's if i'm still sane after this.

Some locks can be quite nasty and also some combinations. That's the reason why I would like to swap locks. It would increase the diversity of manipulation without much increase in costs and storage space requirement.

610 minutes. Did a RRL63 scan. It seems to go much better today than yesterday. Maybe I was to tired yesterday. With this graph I see 5 gates which look like the 5 gates from 6 of wheel 2. The gate are mostly what I already had. My candidates for the true gate is 60 and 13 with today 60 as the preferred gate. (Yesterday it was 13.) If I try all combinations of w1=0, w2=13/60, w3=30,63,97 I get always 12 as the minimum. I can't say which is the truest gate. As the next step I will try again a scan of w1. Not sure what I should use for w2/w3. Maybe 60/63 which is the fastest.

Madsamurai, a 6642 should really be between a 6730 and a 6630. It provides good contact points while you can learn about the false gates.

725 minutes. I made a scan of w3 with w1/w2 at R60. The fine graphs of the gates at 30 and 43 look wedge shaped while the gate at 97 has very steep flanks and a flat bottom. So in my opinion the true gate is 97.

Either I will next make detail graphs of w2 around R10 and R60 again or will again scan w1.

Oh, I totally agree, just saw one for what seemed like a good price and was tempted to get it even tho I knew it would be seriously hard. My next planned step is either 6642 (if I can find one) or 6731. I have yet to find an American dealer listing the 6642, and if I have to order from overseas the shipping makes it pretty expensive, so the 6731 is more likely. All depends on which one I can find affordably first, really.

You pay for the manipulation friendly black dial and get practically one lock free. The dial has the 5/16" spindle and hence fits most locks, e.g. SG 6730, SG 6630, LG 3330, LG 3390.
