DUTO-help needed

Hello, good people.
I have been on this forum for some time. Have not found the time to post much, but have sincerely enjoyed reading the good threads on manipulation and other. THANK YOU to all the guys who have spent hours making good "articles" here :slainte:

Now I am asking for a little help:
I have been asked to open a DUTO safe. Initially it was lost combo(S&G 67-series) and lost key. Now they have the combo :???: but still no key.
As I prefer not to make holes on openings, I was hoping someone could have a lock they would sell/trade, or a key I could measure. I could quickly make a 2-1 if I have dimensions.

Thanks in advance,
Ed

PS: The picture is of the lock I am looking for.

It might be possible to make a suitable pick by feeling and adjusting a pick. I did this with the safe I opened this week. Didn't know how the lock looked like. I felt inside the lock to get information like number of levers and their spacing. Then I adjusted the pick until it worked. E.g. I adjusted the bolt hook for the levers to bind properly.

Thanks, I have a few picks to choose from that I might adapt.
However, I prefer to make a perfect-fitting tool before arriving on the job.

Will post more pictures if I get hold of a lock :)

So I contacted the DUTO assistance, now managed by CONFORTI, with your lock picture and they told me this may be model MP12 or MP16. Both models were in use until 1989. They stopped producing them more than 10 years ago and are no longer available. Sorry I couldn't help you.

Just for your info, the new lock models don't match the old mounting holes. So if you manage to open it be ready to adapt the new lock.

Good luck :)

Femurat,
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORTS!! :D

The safe is now open. It turned out, it was a completely different lock... ;)
Unfortunately, it was not done by me, and I do not have the pictures... It was a drill job.

Thanks again,
Ed :salute:

You're welcome. I did what I could.
Well, at least you didn't drill the safe. It's neither fun nor easy. To much noise.

Cheers :)
