Brinks 5060

Recently acquired a Brinks 5060 *safe* at a garage sale for $20. It was open with no combination and no key. Yes, I could have impressioned a key but I had never gutted a Brinks safe lock. It only had 4 pins. Couldn't find my plug follower so I had to improvise. The follower in the photos is actually a section of hollow aluminum rod from a TV antenna. Works fine. The key acts as the handle. The safe lock has 3 wheels and a drive cam and is a direct entry lock. I ordered an Ilco 1636 blank, which I haven't got yet.

Pens make good emergency followers, the thicker marker pens or felt tipped ones.

I've used pens, markers, deep-well small diameter sockets. Thought I'd try something different. It was a snap to file the 4-pin lock.
