Re: A little book I wrote

Jared, have you thought about doing that print on demand thing with amazon at all? I'd think that would allow you to make edits to the cover art, add any errata, etc... fairly easily. I don't know for sure that it would, just thinking out loud (hey keys clicking are a sound!) I guess.

[EDIT] Just another though here... I just now purchased a copy from Amazon as people who put their effort into such things should be paid back for there time, effort and knowledge which they share. I noticed that you've not added a kindle version. That might get people's attention too and perhaps drive more sales, especially if you did that "matchbook" deal for the combined hardcopy and kindle release. Also, what about releasing it as nook edition too on B&N? (or have you done that?)

Those are some really good ideas! I thought about the ebook version, I just have to reformat it to fit. I recently moved out, started college, and am trying to find a job so things are a bit hectic for me to do much right now. I haven't even been able to post on this site or practice safecracking or lockpicking much lately. Once I have a job and a daily routine, I'll be able to find more time and I'll definitely make sure to polish everything up! :D

Re: A little book I wrote

Just tried to leave a review but I guess unless you buy the book from Amazon (I bought it directly from the other site) they won't accept the review. I notice there are six reviews now, only one of them less than top rated. That guy said there was nothing in the book you couldn't find online, but then that is true of most non-fiction. The whole point is that the book puts it in organized, readable form so you don't have to spend hours online. Plus the detailed descriptions of graphing, finding high and low points, parking etc. are what makes a teaching manual rather than a collection of facts.

Daggers wrote:So, seeing that there were some rather large errors in my previous article on manipulation, I decided to fix it and put it together with my other article on how the locks work. All in an easy portable format! Websites can't really be printed or copied as easy so I made it into a pdf. This is a 25 page book that takes someone with no knowledge of safe locks, to being able to manipulate their first one! If you've read my articles on here, this is a bit redundant but I did fix a lot of mistakes! Let me know how it is :) I tried to make it understandable to the average joe but I feel I rushed the info past them too fast. I figured it's a book and as long as everything is there, they can re-read it and look it over as often as they like until they get it

Thx for the info I just downloaded to my iBooks for reading while riding the train. Thx.

Superb. Thank you very much. I think I got more from these 25 pages than I did from all of the other countless pages I have read on the topic.

I'm glad people are enjoying it! I'm on my way right now to a group 1 manipulation class (sadly not mbausa's course, this mostly only covers s&g group 1's) so hopefully i'll be able to get some knowledge and experience with some more advanced stuff soon. And hopefully have another book out when I feel I'm able to put enough helpful information in it!

The reverse. When you are turning the dial to the left (counter-clockwise), the nose of the lever will contact the right side of the drop zone in the drive cam. So turn the dial left to get the right contact point. Turn the dial right to get the left contact point.
