Victor Safe Restoration

one of the machinists I subscribe to on youtube is in the process of restoring a Victor Safe. Thought you guys might like to follow along:

Re: Victor Safe Restoration

Nice work! Makes me miss my little Taig lathe and Sherline mill. The right tools make this type of work so much easier.

I really enjoy following the work that these machinists do. A lot of it I don't understand but very cool to see the craftsmanship!!

Re: Victor Safe Restoration

I've been looking for a reason to cancel cable tv. I could watch safe restoration videos online all day!

I want to see what he does in making the dial. I'd recommend he buy one on ebay or buy something similar and drill a hole in the middle and sleeve it onto his existing spindle. Then braze it all together.

Thanks for sharing!

Re: Victor Safe Restoration

I watched this yesterday. Shame about the inclusions but all in all it turned out nicely as far as the machining went. As he said "a successful failure"
