Miracle Magnetic Lock

Here is a Miracle Magnetic lock, they were produced in the 1970's. The lock has 5 standard keypins and small magnetic pins on both sides of the keyway. When the key is inserted the standard shearline is met and the magnetic discs in the key pull the magnetic pins into the plug allowing rotation. There are steel rods running down both sides of the cylinder that attract the magnetic pins when the key is removed so about half the magnetic pin is in the plug and half is in the housing preventing plug rotation.

Inside the lock you can see where the magnetic pins go.

It looks just the same as with the key inserted. It is when the plug is in the housing that the pin gets pulled out and stops the plug from rotating.

hello, whats it like to pick, i would imagine a long electro magnetic tension wrench with rapidly alternating current flow to oscillate the magnetic pins with a fine straight pick on the epg,
have you managed to pick it and how.
excellent pics well done.

That's a nifty ol' gem of a cylinder. I was expecting more magnets... but with those mushroom pins two is probably more than enough.
