Mul-t-lock 7 pin padlock.

Got this fine lock off of ebay the other day, and was able to get it on my break from work.
If anyone has any info on taking it apart that would be helpful. I think it has something to do with pushing a pin in.
I used a peterson gem to open this lock. I would let the back edge of the pick sit up against the warding and just rotate as needed.
thanks for looking.

Is there possibly a retaining screw inside the hole where the shackle goes?
Howdy!

there is, but even removing that only make it wiggle. I think it has something to do with a little pin on the side I have to push in. Saw it in a youtube video. just not 100% sure, and i dont want to break anything.

Re: Mul-t-lock 7 pin padlock.

Mul-T-Lock G-series padlocks use a two part cylinder retainer mechanism. To disassemble:

1. Unlock the padlock.
2. Unscrew the retaining screw in the shackle hole.
3. Tap in the retaining pin on the side of the lock. There will be two holes; one is for drainage (larger, empty hole) and the other is the retaining pin (smaller, filled hole).

The retaining pin taps into the retaining screw hole, remove it from there. Once both are out of the way you can remove the cylinder from the padlock body.

yup, that did the trick. I just wasn't 100% sure on what to do. I wasn't tapping on that pin hard enough. It was good to see the inside of this lock. all the drivers were spools.

The padlock he has uses a 7x7 core so it isn't a telescoping Mul-T-Lock. If you want pictures you can read the Mul-T-Lock article at http://www.lockpickingforensics.com/articles.php :)
