I found this little guy in a box of junk at work. Never seen a key like that. Just a 3 pin tumbler.

Re: Odd little lock

Kind of looks like a blockout lock for lever locks. Or a display case lock...

Re: Odd little lock

These little locks raise questions every now and then. They definitly go to a keyway of a warded or lever locks. Are they used as a blockout lock as Riyame suggested or to add security for warded locks ( U can´t pick it with a skeletonkey), I don´t know.

Re: Odd little lock

Ok, I stand corrected.
I´ve got 3 similiar locks, and allways thought they were for keyways.
I learn something new every day, thanks Riyame.

Re: Odd little lock

I dont mean to be contrary... well yes i do...

I have seen these in use, they fit many of those CLAW toy grabber machines you see at arcades and things, they are NOT blockout cylinders...

That is a blockout cylinder...

Re: Odd little lock

Agreed - the length of the lock makes a good lever to break the wall/smash the breeze block out. I prefer my pair of shallow concreted in ground anchors with lost head bolts. 4 different type locks on three bikes. Garage is also alarmed and proximity lit. A couple of locals still decided to try and get my bikes.
