Mitchell S Lock Collection

Hey guys

I've been meaning to start photographing and cataloging my lock collection for a while now, so I finally got the camera out and started going through the locks. This is going to be an evolving thread, as much as i would like to be able to upload my whole collection all at once, it is going to take me a too long. So I'll keep the pictures trickling in over time (keep checking back :D )

I started on the military stuff for no other reason than it was the top draw of my lock filing cabinet.

Most of my locks are new with boxes, instructions, chains, security cards etc; but as a default I'm not going to photograph that stuff because the volume of photos will be out of control. However if you are a collector and are interested in something specific (and I have it), I'll be more than happy to post a picture request.

Here we go

Re: Mitchell S Lock Collection

Great locks and photography skills
macgng; it's completely unnecessary to have ~15$ in keys for a 50¢ lock ... but we all do it anyway :P

Phew!

And this is just part of it? This is going to be a collection worthy of its own museum.

+1 on the excellent photos. What did you take them with? Lighting, too.

Well I was saving that lock till last, as it is the pièce de résistance of the whole collection. But if you insist:

Thanks :D

Nothing fancy on the camera side (just a point and shoot), but setting up the lighting makes the difference I find.

All you are missing is a picture of the civilian 140 in the center of the military locks. A little intimidation if you please.

Re: Mitchell S Lock Collection

'Monolithic' would be a good word to describe those shrouded Assa Rukos.

A collection that would be difficult (and expensive!) to imitate.
