Got 24 Hours, What locks should i pick up?

Hey all,

I am a new picker. The locks i have with me are rather not beginner friendly, old and rusted, or my clear-lock (which i have been using) is way to easy, and i have got to the point where i can SPP it without looking, however i seem to have a common problem of oversetting atleast 1 pin every 3rd/2nd pick, but i was just wondering that for a individual that has just "mastered" their clearlock, where do i go next? I know masterlock is mentioned a lot, but could anyone possibly compile a list or link me to a list in which would be the next logical progression for me?

If i don't get any responses, i will default to r/lockpicking and use their progression list.

Thank you all :)

You can pick up some good starter locks at any hardware store. I'd start out with a basic kwikset (non smartkey), a master #1 padlock, a schlage lock thats a little more difficult, and then a master 140 padlock that has good spool pins

Why the hurry mate? Learning to pick is a journey, it'll take months or years to get good.

As Dave says, almost any cheap commercial hardware store rim cylinders or padlocks are a great way to start.

Once you've got a few, post pictures of them here - we all love a bit of lock porn.

Best wishes,

Michael.
