Petersen Picksets and steel

I've been trying different picks as I am fairly new to lockpicking. I first got a Southord MPXS-14 which was a fairly good set. I next saw the lamenated handles from Southern Specialties that also a little easier to hold onto. Next I bought a Petersen Set " the City Set" with the rubber handles. These picks were puchased over several months. Are the picks in the City set government steel? None of the ads on the distributors sites say what steel is used for this set. It is a nice set for $45 with 6 picks, 2 extracters, and a flat tension wrench. I've seen several people talking about buying a single pick for $15 each. Just wondering if the city set is the same metal as 6 government steel picks?

No, the City set is just their spring steel picks which are great picks.

Defo worth the price, cant go wrong at that-hopefully last you a long time use the southords to practice on saves bending/breaking when your still in the early stages of picking

I've really only tried the small hook a couple of times. I read somewhere that you need to sand them. That is true. They have sharp edges, but I really like the handles alot. Still a bit heavy handed but getting better all the time. I use the Southern Specialties the most. Hey I even pick the Brinks 50mm every so often.
