Good stuff kokomo, this can be a real lifesaver and it's something everyone should learn to do :D

I use a pick even if I have a blank handy, force of habit... it's handy enough, I use the straight edge of the pick to lift everything as high as it'll go and lever the pins up and down with it.

Re: Locksmithing 101 - Lock Shimming

you should really make a "Locksmithing 101" playlist... it would be great for beginners to run thru them all without having to hunt thru all ur vids... that and make it easier to download for my library ;)

Great video, that's exactly how it's done. Shims can be VERY sharp.

Re: Locksmithing 101 - Lock Shimming

Thanks everyone. I took LSA's advice and made a playlist for the locksmithing 101 series and threw in my binding pin video and my impressioning videos. Here is a link to the playlist. http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=6FAA070778F1219E

Really good job!
Is it Possible that Shimming also works on
Euro Profile Cylinders?

If you can get to the back of the cylinder it will work. So for a Euro it would have to be a half Euro or one that was snapped or cut in half!!

Great trick with the RFID breakdown! I shim with picks not blanks. Thanks for the vid.
