Happy 2020! A lock a day keeps the doctor away
Is it a 16, 12 pin or pretending lock? What kind of pins did you notice?

Re: Happy 2020! A lock a day keeps the doctor away
Edocdab, it was 4 on top and 2 or 3 on bottom. Nothing on the sides. I think it was the internal side of the door. No fancy pins, just regular ones I think.
Day 324 of 366. A couple of friends went in India. I asked them a Godrej Skorpio padlock. I sent her the Web page link and a picture of the padlock.
This is the souvenir they got me. They understood I wanted a padlock and they got me one.
Later I was able to get the one I wanted anyway.
Cheers

Re: Happy 2020! A lock a day keeps the doctor away
Day 325 of 366. This was a tricky lock to open. In the last 3 days, I was able to set all the pins more than once, but the plug never turned.
I started with a nicely fitting profile wrench, in two of the central channels, that allowed me to slip the thin pick under it to set the 2 partially blocked pins.
When the lock was almost picked, I switched to a prybar in front of the other two central pins to easily finish the last two pins.
I realized that, even if the pins are set, I needed to push them a little again and again and again... because they feel like set but need that last hair to be truly set.
Cheers

Day 326 of 366. Abus 21/30 lever padlock. Another lock I've never opened before.
Cheers

Day 327 of 366. I still don't like this pick. And I don't like this padlock feedback. And I don't like the key I made for it. But at least I like its thick shackle.
Cheers

Day 328 of 366. A nice drop shaped EAGLE wafer padlock. Picked it with the back of the pick.
The plug turned and got locked in place. I needed to pick it again to close the shackle.
Cheers

About your love hate relationship: What's wrong with the key? I kinda like the wavy shape of the cuts.
You keep showing us all sorts of curious locks and stories and we get lock entertainment for almost nine months out of it already. I'll miss the posts next year I'm afraid...

We're into the 11th month, and I look forward to femurat's posts everyday. This is a positive for 2020 for sure and I will also miss them. There should be a prize for the dedication alone.

Thank you for the support, guys. It's nice you're still following my adventure.
That key I made is so round that looks wrong. And sometimes it get caught and don't open smoothly. The padlock is old and worn so I can't expect much.
Day 329 of 366. This CISA was more difficult than anticipated.
Cheers

Day 330 of 366. This still bank kept me busy for hours! I tried to pick it but felt nothing in the keyhole. Then tried to make a key but it didn't open the lock. Then tried to bypass the lock, found a way but didn't want to ruin the still bank internals. Finally made a dedicated pick and turned it with pliers... and it was OPEN!
A very strong spring is all you need to defeat a picker that loves locks!

Day 331 of 366. Today I picked this lock for the first and last time. Yes, because after taking the picture I was going to close it, but rotated the wrong direction. I crushed some springs and lost a few pins. I doubt I'll be able to disassemble it and put it back together.
Cheers
Re: Happy 2020! A lock a day keeps the doctor away
Are you able to pull out the mangled springs from the keyway? Then maybe you can still gut and save the lock.

Re: Happy 2020! A lock a day keeps the doctor away
I spent one hour trying to save everything. Then gave up and destroyed many springs. I was able to save the lock, but I guess I lost a couple pins. I'll put everything in a box and wait until a similar lock without a key or broken appear in a drawer...
Day 332 of 366. A nice old padlock. I like its rounded bottom.
Cheers

Day 333 of 366. This is the first CISA wafer padlock I've ever seen. A piece of history!
Cheers
Re: Happy 2020! A lock a day keeps the doctor away
If you saved the lock, it's not too bad. Yeah the round body and cisa wafer are nice As a small part of the Italian lock history I picked my Iseo R7 extra the first time today. Cheers to nice Italian locks!
