dealextreme boycott RANT !!

ok, it goes like this...Dealextreme has some good products for cheap,with
free shipping. (oh great, i think to myself)
they are in korea.
i have ordered a few things from them,and EVERY time the items arrived broken.
on Jan first i ordered a REPLACEMENT KLOM tubular pick,
as the first one came with half the fingers broken off.
ok, so i track the parcel...two weeks go by,and the pick gets returned to sender by Hong Kong Post.
this back and forth between DX and HKP went on until the middle of MARCH when i found a better site,and decided i wanted my money back.
after filling out form after form,feeling completely ignored and sluffed off, i keep trying...
it is now April third,and FINALLY i got a response:
Dear sir,

Apologies for our late reply.

After checking the tracking number, The item (XXXXXXXXXXX) was returned to sender on 2-Feb-2009. If you want a refund of the order, we will deduct $5 for the postage. The total refund will be $$17.48.

The KLOM pick was 32.47 and they want ME to pay the postage for an item that never left HK?!?
so i respond:
i dont understand. i paid 32.47 USD for a KLOM tubular pick. SKU 16413.
(i have a copy of the Paypal invoice.)
why do i have to pay postage for your mistake?
why should i pay 5.00 postage for a product i never recieved,and IN FACT never left your country?
please explain.

I think this place is best avoided,and i personally am boycotting them...
i will update the post when/IF i get a response...

I'm getting a little nervous now, I too ordered the klom tubular pick, and the hook pick set that was 6 bucks. I thought this site might be too good to be true, I'll let you know when I get my order and how it turns out. wish me luck!

Cheep Chineese.

I will say, everything I got from them isn't that great. My favorite is the butterfly knife. However...

I got the Sha-Lon set from them. Most of the picks were fine, but some were really bent. I was ok with that for it being so cheep. Then, the cheep cigarette shaped lighter broke, and now the lock on my butterfly knife broke.

When it comes down to it, DealExtreme has cheep prices... because they are cheeply made. Now I will say, I can't beat the price I got my Sha-Lon picks for, but it would have been nice if my stuff didn't come bent and manhandled and broke the same day.

As a note. Anything that costs more than $6 from DX isn't worth buying unless you're really willing to risk your $6.

Did you mean 27.48? or did deal extreme want to stiff you for 15$. Either way its ridiculous that they actually are charging you for something that the hk post keeps sending back to them. I still havent got my deal extreme tubular pick, or sha lon picks, I hope they come intact.

I don't make a habit of advertising for any particular supplier (without recompense), but I am very satisfied with all the products I have received from UK Bumpkeys. The prices are fair, and they stand behind their products. I was very nervous with my first order, because it was the first time I ever ordered from a web site, AND from overseas. The first package arrived one week later; the rest is history.

Ok, I got the 9 piece sha lon pickset today in the mail. A few of the picks were bent, but I was expecting that for 6$. I still didnt get the tubular pick even though I bought it a day before the sha lon picks. Its late and im tired so im going to bed happy easter everybody. Hopefully ill get the tubular pick monday.

Hmm. I ordered the 6 disc ford Tibbe pick from them, and added a 7pin tubular pick in as I need another one, and it was cheap.

If everyone is having these problems, where is another place to buy a good 6disc Tibbe pick?

i STILL haven't gotten my money or my tubular pick yet,
they finally agreed to refund my money,then they re-shipped the item for the fourth time.

well, hopefully our bad experiences can help others avoid them altogether .
sux to be us.
they will lose a lot of biz from this community,but i am sure they couldn't care less.
we are just a source of money to them,nothing else.
no actual concern for the customer,
very poor communications between customer and seller,
customer relations are virtually non-existent .
if you do get lucky enough to get a response to your repeated querys as to where is my order,
or my tool arrived smashed to pieces,or just plain
"i didn't receive anything please refund my money",they will try to rip you off right through that
process .
they are doing it to me as i type.
they are a huge multi-million dollar company,
and they don't give a rat's ass about anything but getting money from your pocket to theirs .
they have proven that.
i will chalk it up as a learning experience.

32.47 minus 5.00 = 27.47 NOT 17.48
PLEASE REFUND 27 DOLLARS FORTY-EIGHT CENTS UNITED STATES CURRENCY.
three months is just way too long to wait for a product.
plus, i am getting charged for shipping on an item i have not received .
please understand my frustration.
