Looks a bit crap. You wouldn't get any feedback from the tensioner and you need to manually adjust it instead of just going by instinct and letting your finger do the work. Imagine having to fiddle with that thing every time you needed to change the tension a tiny bit... no thanks! It actually requires more work than just using the tensioner normally lol.

You could get the same effect if you bent, and stuck the end of the tension wrench down with masking tape.

But I don't think i would do that either.

If both of your hands are supposed to be free when using this tool, how does one hold the pick? In one's mouth? Or is it both hands are free to hold the pick?

LOL!!!! El Abogado! Perhaps one is to stick the pick in their butt and back up to the lock and dance? Then you can do other things while opening the lock?

Seriously though (yeah, I know I say that a lot!), I think Solomon hit the nail on the head.

I don't think this would work very well myself. But.. The tension wrenches that you can buy that you put little weights on, I can see those working, I have never tried them though, but I would figure they would be better than this.

Seems that they are making a basic tool that typically requires a lot of tactile feedback - and made it overly complicated and fragile. It looks like some kind of whacked out Rube Goldberg device.

I would expect that a government bureaucrat probably thought this up - with the help of numerous big $$$ government research grants.

This looks like a cruel joke. "Let's take away a primary source of feedback so their other arm can just dangle there and not do anything."
Howdy!

Re: For the lazy lockpicker Is it CRAP or a neat tool

plus all it does is give you tension in that one spot. what about false set? and once you open the lock you stil have to turn it. if a tool is going to do the work for me it should be able to turn the lock all the way open cause im really lazy. anyway cool article. it was worth the laugh

Kinda reminds me of the tension tool that was notched and you hung different fishing sinkers on it. Think that piece of junk sold for $20 or $30 bucks.
