Got a Free Specialized Bicycle Lock

Got a Specialized tubular bicycle lock from a guy at work with all keys lost. Slow at the end of the work day, so decided to play around.

Open - round two

After round one, decode with special tool:

New material to open: (This lock will not self-impression with the cap - just had a cap around at work, and used it as a blank to cut with a dremel.)

Open - round three

Dremel and tubular key blank. (Once I got home, grabbed a blank from my box-of-blanks.)

Excellent work. That's a homemade tensioner I presume?

Yes, it is home made from a hacksaw blade. The longer, square end prong fits into the groove of the plug. The shorter, angled prong fits in the gap between the plug and the shell, providing the torsion needed to turn the plug.

Nice looking wrench Gordon.

Here is mine. 10 minute job late last night. Might have to make double ended like yours though.

Need more blunt hacksaw blades.

Looks like it will work fine! A double ended tension tool does seem to help bind the pins evenly.

And a lot of what I have learned, especially about safe manipulation, I learned from you. It goes both ways, my friend!

Indeed it does! If I don't know somethin'...you do. If you don't know it... someone else does :D

I just love how that works here. And the magic all happens from the comfort of home (in my lazyboy).

It's a beautiful thing, lol.
