Re: ONLINE LOCKSMITH EQUIP AUCTION

It appears that this auction is EL Reinhardt who was a locksmith wholesaler.
Didn't know they were out of business.

Thanks for the link. I just spent about an hour placing bids. I hope I win a bunch or nothing at all.

Some of their estimated prices look screwed up, the ASSA latches in particular are not supposed to cost $181

Great prices on a few things however shipping to Canada would cost a ton, if they would even ship here.

Nice find, Jeff.

I bid on dozens of items and only won one. The $12 bid is going to cost me nearly $60 in shipping and fees. If anyone in the area wants to go pick up 8 antique brass PLS brand doorknobs for like $13, they're all yours. Otherwise I'll just pay the bid and leave them.

Darn, Jeff! That is sweet! Now you just need to send the locks to Snowyboy to cut. Can you imagine all those as a cutaway Sargent display?

The huge markup for shipping & handling was my main worry too

Re: Online Locksmith Equip Auction

I phoned the auction company today to get a price on shipping and it isn't looking to bad. I had to pay $18 (buyers premium) + $14.11(tax) on a $180 purchase. They think they can put it in a $12 USPS Priority mail box. They are going to call me Saturday morning to confirm. I think it's just plain wrong for an auction company to take a percentage from the seller and charge the buyer a percentage also, but this is pretty much the way it's been going with most auctions of late.

I like to give them my resale # and tell them "I don't pay sales tax"
