Actually when I called them and I told them the items are going to be shipped out of the state, they said that there will be no sales tax applied

They didn't mention the packaging fee? I think they told me that was $10 per quarter hour (with a $10 minimum), plus $4 per box used.

Re: Online Locksmith Equip Auction

I did not hear anything about this, however they want to be paid for the items first, and only then will they even box it up and provide a shipping quote. The first payment needs to be a bank/cashier's check, but the shipping can be paid with a credit card. I hope that the charges you mention do not get applied to me... :o

The whole thing sounds like it's bordering on a scam. I wouldn't pay a cent if anything sounds wrong & being self-employed ,I never believe any threats against my credit rating. You can always call your credit card agency and tell them You want the charge
Denied and a new card with a new number.

Good to know, I will call them and ask for an adjusted amount since I am in Ohio.

Re: Online Locksmith Equip Auction

Well, call it want you want, but I am pleased with my transaction with the company. They called me back yesterday and let me know my items fit in a $12 USPS priority box. They dropped the sales tax, as I was from out of state and they were shipping it to me. They ended up charging me $7 for the credit card transaction and $18 for the buyers premium, and even though their advertising said no credit card, they were very nice and bundled everything together and I only had a card transaction. They told me it would go out Monday and they are going to send me a tracking number. I'm Happy

Re: Online Locksmith Equip Auction

Heya Fellahs,

I managed to snag a couple items as well! Woot! :hbg:
I tried arranging a bank wire but ended up sending a Postal Money Order by express post on Friday - way more red tape involved in a bank to bank money wire, at least here in Canada. I so rarely use cheques that sending money via a piece of paper felt kind of weird, everything usually paid electronically and in an instant.

Hey, big thank-you to you bitbuster for posting about the auction - I would never have heard about it otherwise. :salute:

Cheers,
Sean

Re: Online Locksmith Equip Auction

i'm glad a number of KP members viewed the auction and also bid on items.congrats to those that did get the winning bids. my only regret is i wish i had noticed it sooner.the site that listed the auction is www.midwestauctions.com.....it lists auctions and each auctioneers separate listings.
