THE EXTREME ANTIQUE PADLOCK COLLECTOR BOOK TWO

Just uploaded today. Sorry, prices went up, and my profit went down.

Awesome work Lauren. Is this all new content than what is in your first book?

Some techniques are revisited and improved and expanded. I have some awesome tools that I made for a few padlocks, which I would love to share. The "Contents" page of the book (you can view before you order) provides some vague information on the contents of the book. The book is completely new, and not a revision of the first book.

Awesome. I shared the link so hopefully it gets you a few more sales.

Re: THE EXTREME ANTIQUE PADLOCK COLLECTOR BOOK TWO

Thanks, the stupid publisher raised their prices. It's going to be a hard pill for a lot of people to swallow. I had to cut my profit to absorb some of the burden. People don't realize the hundreds of hours going into these books. You haven't seen me posting anything lately as a result.

I'll be buying the first edition tomorrow evening. Couple weeks later I will get the second edition. I'm trying to read all I can about locks :padlock: and your books look awesome!

Re: THE EXTREME ANTIQUE PADLOCK COLLECTOR BOOK TWO

I don't know what makes everyone tick. I was really into the modern stuff for a while. I have some non-patented tools be hind my name in the modern application. Peterson made one of them. The antique padlock collecting bug keeps getting bigger and bigger. I'm guessing there's just as many padlocks without keys as there is with keys. No body is publishing a one shop work like mine that I know of. So, I can't thank Keypicking members enough who have supported me.

I'm thinking of uploading e-book versions of the book. The price would be cheaper. What does everyone think of this idea?

Re: THE EXTREME ANTIQUE PADLOCK COLLECTOR BOOK TWO

I bet there would be at least a few that would get an ebook version.

I would be very interested in an ebook version. While I love to read "real" books I do like the ability to search and navigate an ebook.

Re: THE EXTREME ANTIQUE PADLOCK COLLECTOR BOOK TWO

I'm contacting the publishing company on the ebook prospect. I had the option to produce an ebook on my last upload, but I learned that not all books are candidates. They have to be compressed and formatted. I have to check a sample of the ebook on a Kindle for instance, before I release it to the public for quality control. Some books don't come out right. I'll keep you guys posted, but don't hold your breath.

Re: THE EXTREME ANTIQUE PADLOCK COLLECTOR BOOK TWO

I called the publishing company about doing a conversion of my books to e-book format. I could do it with a new upload, but I have strongly decided not to do so. We live in an age were art, works, and other forms of digitized information becomes vulnerable to bit torrent-like pirating. The problem is so huge, that it would cause more revenue loss than I would ever expect to gain. I might be helping the honest customers, but all it would take is one dishonest one to steel my hard work for others to bath in.

Most likely, loyal customers will pay the price for a physical book. Those who can and did afford it, I appreciate your business.

I just got my own copy of my book today. Wow! I can see why publishing costs went up. The paper is much thicker. I hope everyone will enjoy the book. Thanks.

Re: THE EXTREME ANTIQUE PADLOCK COLLECTOR BOOK TWO

I will be getting the softcover again. It is quite a price difference :-/ ... But looks like a great book!

A book + eBook package would be something I would like to get if possible.

I haven't finished the first book yet but it is great!
