Cool Keys on Your Keyring

I keep two keys that I don't actually use for anything on my keyring just because I love the key bows and detail work. They are both old Russwin, from before the Corbin-Russwin merger/acquisition.

Does anyone else have keys like this that they carry around? Post pictures!

Re: Cool Keys on Your Keyring

What are these 'keys' you speak of?
femurat: They're called restricted for a reason...
Innerpicked: The more keys you carry, the more important you look
GWiens2001: Great video! Learned a lot about what fun can be had with a forklift and a chainsaw.
pmaxey83: but i first have to submit the proper forms for a new hobby to my wife

Not on my key ring per se, but I have this set of very old Yale & Towne keys on the "spare key" rack in my coat closet (in quotes because there are no operating house, car or padlock keys on that rack; they're all decoys). I don't even have a Y&T lock in use, I just love the detail and history in these keys.

I have piles of old keys, but I don't carry them with me as I already have soo many keys on my belt that folks comment about
it all the time. I just tell them that I'm a locksmith and I'm supposed to have a lot of keys. Most folks do agree with me tho

Re: Cool Keys on Your Keyring

I keep a copy of the master key for the middle school that I went to, which has since been torn down. Unfortunately it's not an original, I cut it not more than 6 months ago but it IS on a beautiful new-old-stock Sargent RN blank. I keep it because those blanks have some cool detail and patina well, and the bitting is pretty cool. That's around the age I first became transfixed on institutional keying systems.

Re: Cool Keys on Your Keyring

I'm not going to post pictures as it's not good security as I use them on a daily basis :

Lockwood std C4 (for the office where I work)
Chubb detainer 3G110 - not many of those on doors in Australia !
Kaba expert (ditto)
Bramah - even fewer of them !
Lockwood 7 pin post office box key.

BTW - if anyone wants a good xmas present to themselves in the form of Bramah products pm me for a coupon code.
