Whatever it controlled has been gone for quite some time, so I really don't know just what it controlled in the old power station.
It's bolted to a plate thats welded onto the shaft but the shaft is fixed and the bolt of the interlock protrudes straight down so whatever it controlled had to at one time been right there, I'm assuming.
*edit* In the context of the location I'd say JeffMoss26's answer is dead bang :D

Here's one that you never see in use! This is an OLD Sterling Bullring Padlock. These are warded locks and this one is locking an electric/gas box at a McDonalds in a po'dunk town in Missouri. I was very tempted to steal it, but I respect ethics and laws. It would've been too easy :armed:

those are some pretty cool locks. the locks on all parking meters here are Madeco, and strangely enough, all the "Free newspaper" stands have ASSA locks. i should take a few pics of them and post them here

Last night I walked over to the soda machines across from my fathers house and noticed the locks were Medeco instead of the Abloy I usually see. It was interesting to know that I can pick those fairly fast. Some people around here are lucky I'm ethical as well.

I don't know if this is a "rare" lock but the name changed to "C.D.F." "California Department of Forestry" long ago...

I never knew it once was called "California Department of Conservation Division of Forestry" note the hand stamped info on lock not exactly lined up, old school...

I guess you could call it a lock in the wild
as it is in the National forest in a hard to get to place, I don't know what is on the other side of the elaborate gate and fence yet?

To get there a regular vehicle would have troubles, this is how we roll...
