Re: Google Hangout Meetup

Once again, calling on all KP members who are awake or bored: I'll be taking apart some locks in my collection and making a short presentation about their different locking mechanisms. One hour from now, 1 PM PST(4 PM EST) join me in a Google hangout for some witty banter and locks!

Live Now! https://plus.google.com/hangouts/_/gycf ... urwvpy6uia

The Hangout will remain up and active, but since no one showed up (unfortunately) I'm going to push the deconstruction of some of my locks until Tuesday's meeting! See you guys then.

Re: Google Hangout Meetup

Alright! One hour from now, 6PM PST (9PM EST) we'll be meeting in the ether to look at some of the different pin-tumbler locking mechanisms in the locks I own. Hopefully you all set your alarms and I'll see you in a bit!

Re: Google Hangout Meetup

Alas, the woes of education are upon me. I've got a midterm tomorrow morning so Hangout is no-go for me, I'll leave Jeff to decide whether it happens or not.

See you guys Saturday though! 1PM PST or 4PM EST.

This is like a curse or something. I remembered at 7:47, then forgot completely but I am getting closer and closer. Maybe in a few months lol

Re: Google Hangout Meetup

Is this a thing that actually happens? I've been trying to organise a UK locksport meetup on a UK pickers forum but it never really got any traction. I'm at the point of considering planning for a holiday to the US for a week or two to check out some lockshops and meet up with some of you guys maybe... But an online meetup would be a lot cheaper, hah.

Re: Google Hangout Meetup

We used to do them regularly but have not in a while...the guy who usually arranged them has been away at school. That being said, I don't see why we can't start this up again!

Re: Google Hangout Meetup

Jeff, you used to initiate them about half of the time anyway. I don't see any reason to not keep doing them.

Maybe just come up with a schedule and a few people who want to volunteer to initiate them and that way, one of them should be able to start it up if one or more of the others are unavailable. I'll have to talk to MBI about it, but maybe we could even make a special usertype within the forum to denote who the hangout "mods" would be.

While I didn't make it to every single one, I'd attended quite a few of the hangouts and it was always a blast! And that sentiment seemed to be mutual all-around for those in attendance.

Sure, why not. With my bad timing I've never made it to one, but they sure seemed popular.
