ARGH! i found this great 1105 series american padlock, but it has serrated pins, and i suck at picking them. It's a removable cylinder, so i was gonna take it out, but since i cant pick it, its a no go. I'm looking for any info you have on this lock. Stuff like is it a ball bearing? is there any way to bypass it? Thanks in advance
Re: American 1105 help?
well the best method i would recomend is using a wafer breaker and then going in there with the peterson bypass tool and poping it open that way, otherwise your gonna have to pick it
Re: American 1105 help?
POOP. how's the wafer breaker and bypass tool work? mabye i could find another way in....
Re: American 1105 help?
there are some good videos about it on youtube, it's extremely to do
Re: American 1105 help?
i'm guessing you meant extremely hard to do? haha i'll look it up
Re: American 1105 help?
it shouldnt have a wafer. or at least they are not standard like that...
but yeah it is a ball bearing mech.
i would try light raking with a short hook or offset ball for the false set, and then lightly spp.

Re: American 1105 help?
once you get used to the feel, they are quite easy to pick.
Re: American 1105 help?
that could be quite some time....i've misplaced my picks, i can only find my snake rake. :[[[
Re: American 1105 help?
say i made a bypass tool, how do i use it?
Re: American 1105 help?
you slide it down the bottom of the keyway and twist back & fourth until you feel it drop down further then you twist and you should be able to feel the cam turning.
Re: American 1105 help?
awesome! much appreciated
Re: American 1105 help?
DAMN! i was hoping i'd get to slip by this time...
Re: American 1105 help?
I had seen a vid on youtube were a guy made the bypass tool out of a piece of a large three ring binder. He had to do some reshaping but it worked. I've got the bypass tool and it is extremely easy to use, although there are some locks that seem to have tighter tolerances and it is hard to get it in postion. I'll see if I can't dig up the link.
BTW I totally agree with USMC on this one.
