Yha but that is not the same as the lock I have. I'm not home now but I will put a detailed discription with pics it is a awsome lock. That is still an amazing job on that euro as always 5 *

Hi guys.
Here are a few picture of some real nasty little securities I found in an ASSA Euro/Profile lock.
Some of the pin stacks even contained two of these little fuckers!! lol

How on earth did you pick that assa, with those little buggers in the pin stacks x 2 as well ,
the sensativity in the tension wrench must be somthing simalar to a shark sniffing blood from 6 miles away

thanks for adding them.this thread is really getting good now....
still many,many more pin types to add,though......
on a side note,( i have an assa RUKO 2 padlock,no key on its way to me....similar setup.)
looking forward to that....they have a thin sleeve between the plug and the shell,with special notches designed to catch the short spools..trapping you in false..
if you google images for ASSA ruko 2 padlock you will see what i mean..looks damn nasty.
i will post those pins when/if i get it and get it popped.

Cheers mate, yep it was a real bitch of a lock to pick, That lock didnt leave my hand for two days untill I could get the picking time down enough for camera.
When you get one of them pins snaged up at the shear line, all you can do is drop the lot and start again!!

hey, I don't really know alot about those assa locks, I never seen one, but I have seen similar spools like that in a best core that I once had, they didn't give my much problem, at least in that lock, they were very small, I didn't even know they were in there until I dismantled the whole lock.

So were they spooled master pins? I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Were they different from the usual master pins that would be found in a BEST SFIC core?

In the ASSA they did cause a bit of trouble, I suppose it's also down to the lock they are in, the ASSA has high tolerances which I suppose would make them that little bit more difficult, but in saying that I have never picked a best core!! so I cant compare.
Maybe it was just me who found them a bit tricky..

Another contribution to the topic.
Here are a few pictures of the key pins out of a Squire Stronghold SB50s
When I gutted this lock it was the first time I had ever come across these type of key pins, I have not seen these in any other locks before.

Actually mate, they were no problem what so ever!! Really not sure of the point of them, I suppose they are easy to overset as you could get the groove caught on the shear line, giving you the feeling that they have already been set, but I didnt even know they were there untill I gutted the lock
