Re: Bryanxwhite's Home Brew

Here is a pick I just finished for MisterSour. It's an offset half diamond with tiger stripe G10. I have more of the tiger stripe if anyone wants it on a pick.

O YEAH! I have big plans for this pick. Maybe a couple of 833C's or a 826C or maybe even a 831B! I think soon I will have a new "go-to" pick! Thanks Bryan for the awesome pick. I can't wait to have it in my hands!!!

Wow...that is an amazing pick.
Naaapaalm...sticks to kids...it sticks to the belly and it sticks to the ribs...
See those kids standing by the lake...drop some napalm and watch them bake.

Re: Bryanxwhite's Home Brew

Here is a short hook I finished up earlier. It's got some red/black G10. The red is barely visible , but gives the black a little bit better shade. I wanted to test out some handle shapes I had drawn up. I think it turned out alright. I tried a new fastening system on this one, it works great but is too time consuming to use on others. That's why I'm selling this one. $45 shipped.

Re: Bryanxwhite's Home Brew

Bryan, is that "red/black" layered like red/black/red/black etc? that is the kind of blue/black I have, it looks like it should turn out like your tiger stripe pick above, except blue/black. Pretty sure my blue/black is like your tiger stripe.

I'm going to mess around with that a bit, should look good.

Re: Bryanxwhite's Home Brew

It's layered like you said. I'm not sure if the epoxy resin they used in part with the not too vibrant red caused it to be so dull. I think they should have done 2 layers of red then black... I'm looking at a raw piece, the red is on top, because the black is much darker it takes away from it standing out like the black/orange tiger stripe. I'm going to go sand on a scrap piece and see if I can get the red to show up.

Re: Bryanxwhite's Home Brew

This is the best I can come up with. Aside from using a clear coat I don't think it will show much better. I was hoping I overlooked the red part. Here it is..

I can't even see any red in that picture at all, it doesn't stand out nearly as much as it should.

Re: Bryanxwhite's Home Brew

I'm a bit disappointed. I woulnt have known until I tried. Oh well. I can say that I'll stick with contrasting colors. I'm still very pleased with the tiger stripe. 1 out of 2 ain't bad!
Chris, how did your blue/black turn out?

I haven't tried it out yet, I'll probably have a look at it tomorrow or Tuesday. I'll put a picture up though.
