Damn those look good! The jade really stands out. I wasn't sure how it would look when I ordered it, but after seeing it on your pick I'm glad I got some! Is yours the canvas jade or standard?

Re: Chris' Home Brew Picks

Mine is the G10, I worked with the canvas (micarta) once...and I hated it. If you think G10 is messy...wait till you fuck with canvas. It also gets burned a lot easier than G10 when sanding. All the colors for handles I have is G10.

One thing I suggest with the Jade is that it has a shiny top coat. If you bevel the edges or whatever there will be a difference in color, one will be shinier you know? That is a bitch to make sure the shiny is perfectly even to the sanded areas. So my suggestion is using a 800 grit or higher, sand the shiny bit too, it makes the color shades even, and I think it looks better like that than shiny. If you think about it Jade is more of a flat color anyway in the real thing.

That's a good point! I am noticing more burning than usual with the jade. Ive been sanding down the too coat on the G10 I use. I think it looks better and you can see the layers. The old G10 I used I put the polished face against the pick so I didn't have to worry about losing material taking off the top coat.

Re: Chris' Home Brew Picks

Not a bad idea. I haven't burned the Jade, i did burn some Camo G10...that seems to be more susceptible to burning and creating heat when cutting. I have some G10 that is layered black and brown, supposed to be a camo hybrid. I think I'm going to try texturing that one so I can see both layers, make it more interesting. I also tried using some Gorilla Glue (the super glue style, not the thick shit). Fucking hell that stuff dries quick, and it bonds tighter than any epoxy I have used, and zero mess.
