Re: Nozza36, homebrew

Hi chaps , i've been hooked for years but now i'm trying to get a "handle" on it lol !
The biggest difference of late is that i can now load pics , so i am showing a few bits to the guys , but the next step is to film a few picking videos
but i don't have many cool locks to work with , so i may just do a rake fest on a heap of locks that are destined for the scrapyard.

Oh my... I don't even know what to say!!! All too kind of you.
Guess I'll have no excuse left not to get a little more proficient with raking.

Really, thanks so much Steve - I haven't made a ton of homebrews, but I've done
enough to know there's a great deal of time & care put into each & every one.

That copper handle on the pick looked like a good idea. What was the problem with it?

Re: Nozza36, homebrew

The copper handles are nice to look at and use but my god they get dented to shit when flattening , and then filing and sanding the dents out takes hours mate ,
so 2 hours to make a pick and at least 2 hours to put on a handle and tidy it up after ! as i said before , it takes an age.

Unsanded the one I just measured is .024 inches (.6096 mm) thick and .124 inches (3.1496 mm) wide. The ones I have sanded have taken quite a bit to get down past the pitting, it's now .021 inches (.5334 mm) thick and still at .124 inches (3.1496 mm) wide. Note that this is the street sweeper bristle still whole, I've not made this into a pick yet.

Re: Nozza36, homebrew

Got my picks from Nozza , I can tell he put some time into them.

the shark fin is wicked, alway's liked a half diamond, but this add's a different feel to it. ( nice idea never seen it before )

You could do the copper handles with no dent's if you had a vice, but I like the dent's. your fingers will remember where they are.

Thanks Man
