Re: old railroad locks
Thieves tools... I see the rusty remains of a magicians improvised pick set.
Ever decide what pick gun to buy?

Re: old railroad locks
I guess we all have thieves tools now? Except my new ones are nice and shiny and have alot nicer handles.
I have been in the souls of many women, but I always end up on the soles of there shoes.
Re: old railroad locks
those are very neat old relics.
they look to be picks for lever/warded mortise locks, and i would guess, for very old doors.
(they could also be props or fakes...)

Re: old railroad locks
(From left) 3, 5, 6 and 7 are picks for pipe-key locks
(From left) 1, 4 and 8 are for pin-key locks.
2 is unknown.
These are most likely for (as mentioned) a magicians handcuff \ padlock escape act.
The design looks to be one-tool operation, unlike most lever-pack locks that require two tools.
Probably for warded locks (keys are restricted from entry, but if the warding is filed off, anything will open it)
I'm curious to know what tool or product Dittmann Boot & Shoe Co. could have made that has been modified into what we see now?
