Low cost automatic combo dialer
I saw this on http://www.makezine.com. It's name is The Lock Cracker, and it was made as part of a university project (college) over a period of 10 weeks I believe. Although it wont be immediately accessible to a lot of people, it demonstrates how only a few simple components and a straight forward computer program with a minimal interface, it can be an effective tool against masterlock combos.
The device is made up of a solenoid with a very common clip on the end, and a simple motor with a modded attachment to grip the lock dial. This linked to a power supply and a computer and it will go through possible combinations. It also demonstrates how easy (if not amazing laborious) it is to get into a combo lock. Its simply just a finite amount of 3 numbers. The vid shows how the code can be sussed out just with a bit of time.
