Eagle luggage lock

Someone brought me a big vanity type steamer chest to open today, so I grabbed a set of warded keys to go tryout and was suprised to find this instead.

I havn't seen a trunk lock like that yet. Took me some lube and a couple minutes working the pins loose to where I could get it picked. This lock wouldn't come apart without destroying some rivets, so I got out the ol' file

Thankfully, there wasn't much to the 5 pin biting, but it took about 20 minutes of messing with it because of all the lube I sprayed in there. Anyway, I just wanted to share the neat little bugger.

Great Job! So only three pins were regular depths and the other two were zero's ? It's always cool to see somebody do this kind of work!
I have been in the souls of many women, but I always end up on the soles of there shoes.

Re: Eagle luggage lock

Nice work,

I still can't impression for crap... I need a better file. Everything I have is way to coarse to see the marks.

Probably 1's instead of the true 0, just filing off the plating and preparing the surface left them at the right height.

What: No code? I have seen quite a few of those (apprenticed in Lafayette, IN, and locksmithed some around NE Illinois, and in /Cinti, OH). Most made by Eagle had codes on them, some on the back of the lock.

Re: Eagle luggage lock

I search them all for possible codes to try out. There was a 5 letter code on the front of this one. Genericode gave me a hit an Eagle, but it was a code series the program didn't have spaceing/depth info on. Then I tried to take it apart from the back, and then I impressioned it. Believe me, I'm not trying to do any extra impressioning.
