How are Sargeant and Assa Abloy related?

I was looking at some locks at my university today and one of the locks in the physics department (where the serious equipment like lasers and radiation type stuff is stored) said "Sargeant" and right below that, "Assa Abloy". I thought they were two different kinds of locks. Sorry no pictures but I don't have a cell phone. It was a cylinder lock, by the way; I only noticed it because all the other locks at the school just say "Sargeant".

Sargent is owned by Assa Abloy. No relation to S&G.

Do you think that particular one is a different type than all the others? Obviously (at least I hope it's obvious) I'm not interested in picking it, but I'm curious.

The old stuff just says SARGENT. The new stuff says SARGENT and ASSA ABLOY. Same goes for Medeco, Corbin Russwin, and their other brands.
