Re: Members Say Hi

I'm a newbie amateur so bear with me.

My neighbor gave me an old 302-402 group2 cabinet so I took it apart to see if I could determine the combination. It is a 3 wheel but turned out to have a 4 number combination even though there are only 3 wheels. I must have done something wrong. The sequence is 4L 20, 3R 40, 2L 60, L to 10, R open. This does not agree with standard Mosler 302-402 web information which call for a 3 number combination.

Hmmm. The sequence you've given is a little confusing.
I mean, is it right to 60? Or is it right to 10? Also, you
have two right rotations in a row. Just a typo maybe?

At any rate, I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of it.
But for now... WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!!

Re: Members Say Hi

Hey All, Josh here,

Lp101.com says I joined them Sep 29, 2011, so I've been picking for a few years now! Figured it's time to branch-out to another forum when I saw keypicking listed in the /r/lockpicking subreddit.

Hi!

Re: Members Say Hi

Hi everyone! I am new to the locksmith trade having started with a retired mentor back in June of 2014. I found myself unemployed just weeks before my wife was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. What a year it has been!

"Mentor" sold his business a few years ago and equipped a 16' trailer as a mobile key shop. His wife decided he did not like it, so it only made one trip to Quartzite (sentence is grammatically correct... ;). I was able to purchase his inventory of about 1600 different keys with a total inventory of about 10,000 keys along with a few machines and tools. He made me a deal that included his training. And 42+ years is worth a lot but his health is also failing.

I am now in the process of setting up a mobile only business in a small town in the Northwest US. I have spent the past couple weeks going over past posts and find there is a lot of information available. Ironically, lockpicking is my biggest challenge!

In November, I got my business license, resellers permit, insurance and bond as well as the State required Specialty Contractors license. So legally I am all set and have done a few jobs already.

I got my start in retail back in 1978 and have owned a couple retail businesses over the years. I am looking forward to having a mobile business and better control over my hours than working for someone else.

Enough for now and I look forward to interacting here in the future.
