Seems like you may have acquired a few skills of your own, I look forward to reading your posts.
Being a little bit of a pessimist 'behind every bandage is a scab' made me chuckle sorry, take care Kirk and have a great day
Kind regards. Lance. England U.K

Oh... and Kirk (didn't see your post up there). WELCOME!
You've certainly had a pretty interesting life it sounds like?!
Very good to meet ya and glad you're here.
Re: Members Say Hi
I'm a UNIX Systems Engineer by day. Information security is a required part of my job, but to be perfectly honest, I don't find it all the interesting. I do find physical security interesting, probably because I watch too many spy and heist movies.
I started picking in the mid 1990's when I was in college. I learned from the MIT guide and some zine style book that I managed to pick up somewhere. The only "pick" I have ever made was a ground down steak knife that did a great job ruining my Dremel, but utterly failed to ever open a lock.
I got back into picking a year or so ago when a coworker dropped an old American Series 50 on my desk and asked me to open it. Unable to, I started reading up on security pins and finally, after much hand cramping, I managed to get it open. From there I went looking for harder and harder locks, which finally landed me on keypicking where I started lurking. Using the materials provided by xeo and Oldfast, I recently managed to learn the basics of Medeco Biaxial picking. I'm currently at the point where I have my wife select and install pins in a configuration unknown to me. I have another cylinder on its way, which I plan to have her unbox and keep the key. My most immediate goal is to be able to pick ANY Medeco Biaxial.
Future projects are:
Medeco Metrolock 52-5 (snagged it on eBay)
ASSA Twin
Mul-T-Lock 7x7
Based on the safe chronicles of Oldfast, I'm also developing an interest in manipulation.
