Hi,
I just found out about the forum from watching one of LockButcherShop’s YouTube videos. I am new to lock sport and have only been picking for about three months. I am currently working on learning the nuisances of the American 1100 and its serrated key pins. I am able to open an American 5200 pretty regularly but am still struggling with the 1100. I look forward to reading about everyone else’s experiences and to continue getting better at this new (addictive) hobby.

Welcome! I love me some American locks! One thing you'll learn if you haven't already is you could have 10 of the same style lock and they'd fight you differently. Some will give it up easily and some might kick your butt! You might just have an easy 5200 and a hard 1100. But that's just another part of this sport that makes it fun.

Welcome! Sometimes you gotta get rough. I'd love to try a windshield wiper blade against an American Lock.
