Hello from Odell

Just found this cool site and joined up. I've been collecting and restoring antique padlocks for more than 40 years, including making new keys for them. The last time I counted my collection was way over 300 padlocks. I've been a locksmith for the last 18 years working mostly on residential locks . I own several sets of professional picks, but I've made my own that I use 99%of the time,I get a better feel with mine. When I get some more free time I'll post some pictures of my locks and pics. Mark

Re: Hello from Odell

Welcome to the site, it's nice to have you here.

It's only been relatively recently that I've gotten into collecting antique locks, mostly I'd just been collecting more current items before.
It seems there is SO much to learn about how to appraise the value of the older locks, and spotting fakes.
