Very cool examples of Abloy withstanding some abuse.

here's a cool video of some Abloy testing

Here's a nice old video from Sargent & Greenleaf on their environmental padlocks with Abloy influenced cores:

Cool video. I love it when you get self-aggrandising marketing blurb. It fails to mention that anyone can make a full set of keys for every lock on the planet with little effort though!

Aren't the 3 disc ones railroad only and the general ones 5 disc?
I'm not so sure you can actually make something very pick resistant and/or have a high number of differs if it's supposed to sit outside in a railroad switch and not fail regularly...?
The local energy company here has actually started using KABA padlocks for their outside tunnel access hatches. Will be fun to see how well they work in a number of years (though that's still a lot nicer environment than the extreme dirtiness of railroad tunnels).

Yes, you can make every possible key for an Abloy Disklock, Disklock Pro, Protec or Protec 2. Unfortunately, it may take a while to try all of the nearly 2 billion possible keys (not counting different keyways), and may require a number of large trucks to carry the possible keys.

I thought the S&G enviro only had 24 (?) possible keys?

Correct. The three disc railroad S&G's have 27 theoretical differs; excluding keys with all 90, 45, and 0 cuts, that leaves 24. In practice, there are fewer keys used; off the top of my head, I can think of less than a dozen.

The Enforcer lock is not an Environmental. It uses the Abloy Profile system.

Indeed; thought we were talking about the S&G Environmental video, though. The Enforcer is a completely different story; as you alluded to, I own far too few semi trailers to make a set of Abloy tryout keys :)

If you don't mind the noise, these mega padlocks are easily defeated by a cordless angle grinder. My local locksmith showed me a monster Abloy with the shackle cut through on both sides, that he kept on display just to show 100% security is impossible. But he also had a couple that resisted brute force much like these pictures. Of course we all know Master padlocks are tougher, after all they resist bullets!
