Updating my collection, pls help

First off hello all, its been awhile since ive been around here, glad to see some familiar names.
I need some advice, i am a intermediate picker i would say...
i can pick best locks, american locks, everything they carry at wallmart lol, I have an abus 83/45 ic with a isp core i think. Its a 7pin and i can pick it to control or full pick.
i usually spp 99% of the time
ive picked all my deadbolts (kwikset and brinks) and door locks in my house, my safe, and i am out of locks that will give me that "thrill"
i have a few medeco m3's with the side bar in and that seems to be a bit hard for me, havent gotten that yet, i can pick it without the side bar though...

Any help / suggestions you guys have would be much appreciated. I'm looking to update my collection and get some more locks. Just not really sure what to get.

Thanks a bunch,
-Odin

Re: Updating my collection, pls help

You have now entered the next step in picking, time to start on some high security locks. You can also tackle other specialty locks such as tubular, lever, dimple, Auto track keys, automotive locks etc. Since you already have many pin tumblers you can also step into impressioning another very exciting part of lock sport. All you need to get started in impressioning is a pair of small vice grips, some key blanks ( or a lot) and a chainsaw file or pattern makers file.

If you're looking to expand, I would suggest dimple locks like arrow did. Dimples are becoming more popular in the US and the dedicated tools to pick them aren't goin to cost you an arm and a leg like the auto lock or tubular stuff is. Plus most dimples can be picked with standard picks to start. They are great fun and something a little different then what you're used to.

Cheers and Good Luck,

Re: Updating my collection, pls help

Yeh I feel like I am ready to take the next step up in my picking. Any suggestions on some good high security locks I might want to get? Not sure if I am ready for dimple/wafer locks but probably the auto ones would be fun, and practical bc I lock my keys in my car atleast 3-4 times a year lol.

Impressioning really seems like something I would want to learn and am interested in. I could actually do it on my room door lock to start bc it didnt come with a key so I never lock it. I have a key blank that fits it too. It's just a reg door nob 5pin. Picked it many times lol. I have read the section here on imoressioning, and I get the general idea of it but I'm having problems getting the marks on the blank so I know where to file down. Any good videos ya know of? Or just good instructions with some good details?

I appreciate the help and advice,
