FFF'ING Car clamper lock !

Ok chaps i have (on loan) a car clampers lock (uk)
It's branded L.C.C (HARDENED)
I failed miserably to spp the lock , so after an hour and 30 i raked it
with several home brew rakes , lo and behold the plug rotated 90 degrees
but no joy , so i began to think side bars/dimples ? i took a small sweeper
hook and filed the tip to a point and began to DJ (rotate) the pin tops
and gained another 25 degree or so rotation but no result as yet.
The lock is rectangular with a slot cut into the side and a straight bolt
which slides across the gap .
Any pearls of wisdom greatfully received

It's stupid for somebody like me to give you advice! But is there any chance that it picks the opposite direction?

Re: FFF'ING Car clamper lock !

Seems to me that these are wafer locks?? or is it a pin tumbler? Not that it makes much difference, I always seem to have decent luck with the wafer locks, unless as you hit on, it has a sidebar, and it may have otherwise you would have had a post with a different name!

Re: FFF'ING Car clamper lock !

Got it the day after i last posted on this thread , it is a type of lock
also known as a roller shutter lock , the key to opening this lock is
simple , it just has to be picked 4 times to open !
0/90/120/180 and 270 degrees , had to rake it as spp was making me cry
with frustration (nearly)
I am trying to buy the lock to use in an exchange !

i will let ya now if/when i get in...
perhaps a plug spinner would lessen the times you would have to pick your boot lock.

That was very quick , Frantic ! although the lock i had was a little
larger and the bolt would not release until the cylinder had rotated
a full 360 (god knows i tried)
It was that same brand though , jealous of your skills mate !

Re: FFF'ING Car clamper lock !

i have one too, (LOL) i'll post a vid, id say it's the same model, the problem i had was knowing when i had picked it as it is so stiff when rotating the plug,
most of the time i had it picked without knowing.
A zealous locksmith died of late,

And did arrive at heaven gate,

He stood without and would not knock,

Because he meant to pick the lock.

Re: FFF'ING Car clamper lock !

I know this is off topic a tad, but didn't somebody find a bypass for these style locks? Maybe not this brand but I thought I seen one somewhere that was bypassed somehow.

Re: FFF'ING Car clamper lock !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StRIrx2NBZE Awol70 has the Master bypass, probably wouldn't work for these, but still interesting. He said that Master put a wafer in these on the newer models to prevent the bypass. These can by punched like an American I think though.
