HT you can rake those Medecos lol :P

Cali, thats pretty lucky mate. SFIC cores are a beast with a mood of its own lol. You can pick a SFIC for weeks never getting control then one day it only picks to control lol.

Use a RU46 to make a working key for that oval assa that is all over from ebay.

Yup. I figured that out. It works about 1 out of every 3 times I try, which isn't bad. I originally got this as a starter Medeco... i.e., a practice lock for the regular locks. Turns out, these driverless locks don't really develop the skills needed for the full monty. Right now I'm working on a standard biaxial with all but three pins removed. That's much better practice.

Yea thats a good start. Many say biaxial are easier then the original but Im not sure why when there are more cuts with the biaxial.

Those things are rakeable?! I'll have to give that a try.... I can do the standard biaxials (youtube.com/caliusoptimus) without too much trouble but I've got a pair of those driverless vending machine locks and have never had success.

Definitely. A Triple Peak/Bogota with moderate tension worked best for me. Good luck!

Woohoo! Got one. Top one opened several times in a row. After about 5min I decided the bottom one had defeated my bogie. A .015 might do the trick.... until next time.

Had a good night of picking for a change. Luckily the silver Best only had 5 of 7 chambers pinned up, but they were all in the back. It seems for now 5 pins is my limit and the half diamond has become go to pick.

Had an hour to play yesterday evening and dug out the old toys-box. Picked up random locks without looking and opened them.
I had a lot of fun!

Cheers :)

Good to see others are contributing to this thread lol Great picking gents.

Dave, the reason the 5 pins were in the back is because best counts the last pin as their first. So in a standard lock the pin closet out which you can see if actually the last pin in a Best system.

Thanks. I remember hearing that, but didn't think about it at the time.

Not uncommon for someone to skip chambers when pinning up a Best. I've seen it a few times. Could also be a construction core where they purposely only pin 3 or 4 chambers.

Another half hour of fun :)

Congrats to all the fellow pickers that are picking locks a lot harder than these. The locks inside my first toys box were "boring" when I've put them in it. Now I'm a bit nostalgic and dug it out. It's nice to see that I can still open them easily. I remember the personality and what pick worked better with some of them. Others are a surprise after all these years.
I'm planning to dig out all of my locks and pick them, and then decide if I still want to keep them or not. Then I'll find a way to dispose of the unneeded ones. Trades? Sells? Dunno. I'll let you know.

Cheers :)
