Very cool! I have yet to bag one of those beasts. Those are some nice looking picks! Homemade?

Very nice -- those are tricky.

Thanks! Kept on losing it after oversets in the false set. Watched Xeo do a vid on a Trioving and it popped right after. I'll try and get a video up. They are a nice pick.

Thanks! Those are Sparrows picks after a little sanding and polishing. I'm really liking them. The dipped handles are a lot more comfortable, but my EDC set doesn't have the dipped handles - just so I can fit more in there - and I try to practice with what I'll actually have on me as much as possible. They're basically the only picks I use anymore, just because I never leave the house without them.

Sparrows seems to be about the best mass produced pick out of the box to me. They don't really *need* cleaning up, but they look nice as hell if you do polish them.

It started out as the Tuxedo set, then I added a bunch of stuff to it. That Orion card is pretty cool too - it's came in handy a few times.

The new Commando locks were giving me some trouble at first (it's been a while since I've picked one). They seem to like very light tension. Light, like you can let go of the wrench and no pins drop. This one feels like it has 1 spool, 2 serrated, and 2 double spools. And it looks like all of the key pins are serrated (all of them that I can see anyway). It was giving me a lot of trouble till Gordon (I think) mentioned that they were using double spools now.

Re: What have you picked today

I bought a couple of lock cylinders at a hardware store yesterday to try something different from my regular padlocks. Just picked this 7 pin Hard Head lock. Completely without finesse though. I was poking around with a bunch of picks to see if I could get some feedback and it popped open. I then found that it was very easy to rake open with the Sparrows worm. I still have to learn how to get proper feedback from this lock, but I guess it will start speaking to me after a while. The pins are massive though, compared to the tiny padlocks I've been practising on.

Two buggers fell,
the first one is a small Zeiss Ikon with tiny keyway which makes it a real pain to pick
