Lol. That sounds familiar. I picked up three of Samus Aran/xeo's eBay lots before I realized who it was.

PS- just packed up a box for you 5 minutes ago... Contains the duo cam lock and a 2.25 pound, restricted keyway, 30 year old padlock that I can't pick (yet). Thank goodness for flat rate boxes.

I made a 3 pin i-core wrench. It looked like crap but allowed me to bitch pick/rake the lock in to control in 30 seconds[/quote]

I'd like to see a photo of that wrench. I'd like to get better at control line picks.
macgng; it's completely unnecessary to have ~15$ in keys for a 50¢ lock ... but we all do it anyway :P

How did you reach #6 with that Reach? :reach:

I’ve got a reach too, and seem to fail at reaching high cuts in the back with it altogether — despite the name… :S (same goes with my offset diamond). ):

Must be in the technique, or the warding. :S

Just rode the edge of that ward on the right side and set 3 4 and 5 without disturbing 2. It is only a 5 pinner

Ah, I didn’t count.

Mh. I think I need to just practice with the Reach and offset diamond more.

Almont Re-Key padlock with an SC1 keyway. Harder than I expected. Was getting nowhere with BOK tension for 15 minutes or so (only had a BOK tool with me), but finally switched to improvising TOK tension and had it open in a minute or two.

Here's my best control core wrench I made it's sloppy and needs a rebuild but was excited to give it a shot. the first nub was the one doing all the work. The angle of the bend was dog legged a little. Still did the job thou, opened to control in no time.

Definitely some overlooked picks. I had a Lockwood 334C45 that gave me a lot of trouble for weeks. Bought an offset popped in a minute. One of my favorite picks if the keyway allows it.

Re: What have you picked today

Not much of an achievement I suppose, but I'd been struggling with my new cutaway repinnable practice lock for ages, even finding 2 pins fiddly when placed apart, so I just decided to whack all 6 standard pins back in and challenge myself. Spent ages working on it but I eventually found out a "trick" for this lock (pins 1,2, and 3 "kinda" set, then 6 and 5 get pretty tight, those PROPERLY set, then 4 gets REALLY tight. Set 4 (loosen up a little on the tension, apparently I have a death grip once I get focused...) and then if it doesn't work, re-set 1, 2 and 3). I've done this several times in succession so can say that I've now successfully cracked this lock in it's current pin config :D. Yeah, it's a cutaway so I can see when the pins set and yeah they're standard pins but eh. I consider it an achievement!

Just to point out, I -am- a total noob to lock picking :D
