So I finally got my hands on the oval Assas that have been circulating from ebay. I had a bit of play with it free hand then realized this Assa just like my other needs to clamped in a vise because unlike 90% of locks where letting off a bit on the tension will allow you to set the spools, for this lock you actually need to actually turn the plug to the closed position a few hairs to set these pins because of the counter milling. Over all I was very surprised at how easy this thing took. I wont lie it took about an hour but with ever minute I was getting closer and closer so I took my time before picking on a pin just to avoid starting all over again.
Also interesting to note, the body has a side bar groove cut in, if only I had a box of spare Assa Twin parts lol
BTW for all you guy who have these locks BUT have no key, get a Russwin RU45 blank, it fits almost perfectly. You have to shave off a few hairs on the bottom and its a few hairs short but all of these locks are KA and inspecting the pins that shortness wont effect it at all.
