So I finally got my hands on the oval Assas that have been circulating from ebay. I had a bit of play with it free hand then realized this Assa just like my other needs to clamped in a vise because unlike 90% of locks where letting off a bit on the tension will allow you to set the spools, for this lock you actually need to actually turn the plug to the closed position a few hairs to set these pins because of the counter milling. Over all I was very surprised at how easy this thing took. I wont lie it took about an hour but with ever minute I was getting closer and closer so I took my time before picking on a pin just to avoid starting all over again.

Also interesting to note, the body has a side bar groove cut in, if only I had a box of spare Assa Twin parts lol

BTW for all you guy who have these locks BUT have no key, get a Russwin RU45 blank, it fits almost perfectly. You have to shave off a few hairs on the bottom and its a few hairs short but all of these locks are KA and inspecting the pins that shortness wont effect it at all.

Gleb, if you need a longer blank, RU46 is the same keyway.

You read my mind, I wanted to advise that the RU45 isnt long enough. Im good cause I have the original Assa blanks but I remember someone made a thread about ordering blanks. Think it was DTW.

After picking that Assa above, I learned a great deal about their workings more specifically their feedback which is hardly there lol. This Assa (compliments of Wayne Winton) was a bit harder as the feedback was even less noticeable. Sorry not gut shots yet as I had a bit of a hard time figuring out how to remove those brass c clips.

Also forgot to mention I used my home brew Prince and Princess picks and they worked like magic to get these Assas to false set. 2 strokes and its in false set each and every time. I was even able to actually set pins with them. So they have slowly becoming my go-to rakes.

Gut shots as promised. This cylinder has counter milling on all 6 chambers as opposed to the Oval.

A bunch of easy pickin's just arrived from ebay. My first experience with SFIC's and I was shocked when they all raked instantaneously to control.
