Just when you think you've learned it all, that is when you find you haven't learned anything yet.

Let's just say that you might be surprised at the form in which the Duo comes. It was used to secure vending machines, it comes with a key, and I've never seen anything like it... and that's all you will get out of me!

As for the primus, it keeps slipping further and further down my "to do" list. I've not dedicated the required time to even have a hope of opening it. I will probably just send it to you without having defeated it. :(

Re: What have you picked today

I've seen a DUO key in person, but not a lock. The keys are really thick. Must be tons of room in the keyway for picking.

macgng; it's completely unnecessary to have ~15$ in keys for a 50¢ lock ... but we all do it anyway :P

DUO :spinning: :spinning: :spinning: :spinning: :spinning:

Thanks HT4 !!!!

It took a few goes. There are steps cut on the tops of some wafers and got caught a couple of times in these but once I figured them out and gradually got the feel of the wafers setting ---- "WTF!!!!!!!" (battle cry).

In the picture you can tell that it has been picked because when the lock is locked the pin at the back sits on the left shoulder (the one at the top) and now it is sitting on the right shoulder - the open position.

:hbg: :hbg: :hbg:

Realy excited with this one -- as you can no doubt tell.

Thanks guys. Like I have said, just knowing that it can be done really helps plus HT4's video.

Thanks Mate, made my day.

Edit. In my excitement forgot to load the picture. :D

Edit again: Used a GOSO shallow hook and two pry bars to get the thickness needed.

Re: What have you picked today

Thanks OF.

I believe they are used on vending machines.

I got this one from Security Snobs over a year ago.

That feeling when the cylinder turns never goes away, Aye? especially on a difficult beast.

As well as the inspiration from the other guys I did quite a bit of research. Learning about the extra bitting was essential.

Funny how a simple question regarding a remark made in an unrelated post lead to popping this lock and not just for me.

Still got a big smile on my face.

Re: What have you picked today

Congrats Neilau! I've learned a ton about these locks since my video. The more I learn about what's inside, the easier these open for me. I'm thinking about another video with a discussion of the innards and picking tips. I'm waiting on a Dup can lock I just picked up off eBay, so I have something that I can disassemble for the video (I have 3, but none that come apart).

Congratulations again.

PS- you just opened a freaking UL437 rated lock!!!
