How hard is this to pick?

Just like the subject line I am wondering how hard they are to pick. I got offered 2 for $15 each today so I snatched them up and hopefully will have them by the end of the week.

Is it just me or is there no image or description of the lock in question? :)

It's a distributor that is having this massive sale, but the supplies are limited and I couldn't even get the American SFIC padlocks I wanted.....but they sent the cores. Zipf lock co.

Re: How hard is this to pick?

I don't know yet. They were shipped out yesterday I should have them by the end of the week. I'm hoping no sidebar as that would make it unlikely I'd ever be able to pick it.

ASSA locks are hard even without the sidebar. The sidebar just adds to the fun though so if it does come with one be happy. Oh and get ready to be really annoyed though because these locks will piss you off to no end.

Re: How hard is this to pick?

Just got my padlocks. They are 0 bitted with no sidebar. I'm a bit disappointed as I've never keyed one up and the only one I've done anything with seemed to explode when I took it apart. (ASSA cylinder not a padlock) I have ASSA blanks and a kit just not looking forward to pinning it. I guess it's a good way to learn.

I wish I had a ASSA pinning kit and key blanks. My Ruko is going to have to go without keys. And what do you mean it exploded? I guess you are talking about the side pins going flying. All I do while taking them apart is just hold my thumb right under where the side pins will be while taking out the plug. Oh and remember once it is out to touch each side pin to make it shoot out of the plug and then block it with your thumb so it doesn't go flying once you think you are safe and try to get them out with nothing stopping them from shooting around the room.

Re: How hard is this to pick?

Well they are not even 0 bitted. They are just plain unpinned. I can turn the plug but the shackle does not open. It goes to a little past 2 and between 11 and 12 o clock. But it does not open. Anyone know how to get past that?
If I could disassemble it I have access to the ASSA pin kit. But our twin keyblanks are not the right keyway.
