Hi @GWiens2001 Nice pictures. Any lever locks welcome. Keep em coming.
Hi @huxleypig. The Chubb safe lock in the picture has a curtain to stop guys like me sticking a 2 in 1 in. The curtain in that lock,(and in the post box locks)turns freely.
Its the key that throws the bolt on them. The lever that sits on the curtain wheel acts like a spring catch to keep the curtain in place.
On the slam/latch post box it will only let you turn clockwise, not anti clockwise. I wonder if this is to stop you reading the back of the levers.?
If you look at the bottom lever in the Chubb safe lock picture (lever number 7) you will see a piece that sticks into and towards where the curtain is/would be.
This traps your pick wire going between 7 and 6. I had to thin, and shape the wire to get under it. Once the levers are up a little I was fine.
The Hobbs lock I cant tell you much about it other than It says Hobbs & Co London on it. I havent picked it yet, (still graphing comination locks), But after a quick look inside,
In the picture of the lock with the bolt part thrown you can see that lever 2 is sitting directly on top of the curtain wheel. Thats going to cause some problems.
Hi @ Capt Dunc Any time your free, Im ready for some learning. I look forward to meeting up again, and picking your brain, as well as some locks.
Look forward to seeing your locks and post notes too.
