Pick metallurgy

I came across this link this morning and thought it might be of interest to some of you.

It explains a lot about metals and gives insight into what metal you might want to use for your lock picks.

I was told that you can find the steel info for what Peterson uses for his government steel picks if you want to try making tools out of that.

Cheers :)

Re: Pick metallurgy

Buy choosing the proper steel, and properly working with it, we can produce lock picks that are much thinner but still strong enough to not break in the lock.

This can give the picker more room to move in the key way enabling picking some locks that are too hard to pick with fatter picks.
