Re: Combination Dial File Cabinet

No pictures from the transport.

The used a "hand pallet truck" like this one: http://www.xilin.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/DB.jpg
They had two beams with magnets under the safe thick enough for that pallet truck. They lowered it at the final destination and removed the truck. Then they had a pair of thinner beams and a pair of steel rods (maybe 1" diam.). One lifted the safe with a crowbar on one side, while the other exchanged the beam with the smaller beam. Then the same on the other size and then again both sides to go down to the rods. They pushed the safe on the rods a bit better into the corner and lifted again both sides separately to remove the rods. A bit more shifting with the crowbar and the safe was there.

PS: If you want to exchange the lock (which I personally would not do) you will need one with a tapped bolt for a bolt extension.

Those guys sound good. How does it feel to finally have it?

I finished my floor supports today. I am one day ahead of schedule.

Cool! Did your guns move in? Or do they have to wait for some interior design?

Re: Combination Dial File Cabinet

I just moved the guns in after some basic wood work. I am so pleased with how the safe is working out and very grateful to all the advice I was given on this forum.

Also modern safes can be cool. Looks like you could use it as a panic room too. How high is it? And don't forget to store you power tools inside.

Btw. this type of bolt work was invented at Gary.

The safe is 58" tall inside.

What do you mean by the type of bolt work? The material or how the lock engages the bolts?

The construction of the box on the back of the door and the boltwork inside for TL-15 and TL-30 rated safes.

Awesome. Good luck in your panic room without air, locked and a stack of guns... or maybe just don't do that part of the great advice of Martin ;)

Re: Combination Dial File Cabinet

Glad you reinforced the floor. Unless you want the safe located in your basement. :D
